The six‑degree‑of‑freedom offshore compensation gangway, also known as the active wave‑compensated gangway within the industry, serves as core marine equipment in the Walk‑to‑Work system. It is widely deployed in offshore wind‑power maintenance, oil‑gas platform material transfer, marine scientific research, port pilotage, naval and maritime vessel transfer and other scenarios.
2. Core Advantages
Built upon self‑developed servo electric cylinders, JST’s six‑degree‑of‑freedom parallel base eliminates oil‑leak risks, requires simple maintenance and delivers faster response. Designed for high‑salt‑fog offshore environments, it supports prolonged continuous compensation and incorporates multiple safety protection mechanisms. This mature domestic model achieves an outreach of 25‑26 meters and enables safe docking under sea conditions up to Level 4.
Attitude sensors collect real‑time data on hull sway and heave caused by wind and waves. Driven by servo electric cylinders, the six‑degree‑of‑freedom platform dynamically counteracts ocean disturbances in the opposite direction. Combined with multi‑DOF coordinated adjustments including gangway pitching, telescoping and yawing, the gangway’s docking end maintains relative static status to guarantee stable offshore operation.
